A development of 5 new homes arranged within a courtyard setting. The District Council (North West Leicestershire District Council), and ourselves placed a great deal of emphasis on the rural character of the area. The scheme was designed to reflect the historic vernacular of the village, whilst at the same time looking to embrace a design of a former farmhouse with courtyard of converted barns – so typical on the fringe of a village.
The proposals for the ‘rural exceptions site’ was an innovative way to delivery two new high quality family homes (plots 1 & 2) and provide much needed homes (plots 3, 4 & 5) for local residents.
